A brief history of the development of Ringmer Village Action Plan

February 2002 A steering group of parish councillors and other community members was set up to identify key issues of importance to the village.
March - April 2002 The key issues were circulated to community groups for comment and amendment.
October - December 2002 A questionnaire was written and sent out to community groups and individuals for comment and amendment.
January - February 2003 The questionnaire was distributed to all households in Ringmer. The responses were collated and a report produced by a professional analyst.
February 2003 onwards The report was available for public scrutiny at key locations in the village and on the Parish Council and Village web sites.
January - March 2003 A steering committee was reconstituted and considered the main areas for action in the light of the responses to the questionnaire.
March - May 2003 The steering committee planned and implemented an informal Village Open Day to display the report findings and to display the key issues by inviting interested groups to produce displays on the issue of concern to them.
10th May 2003 A public open day was held which provided a further opportunity for individuals or groups to amend or comment on the proposed action areas. See Action Plan Open Day for list of displays and groups involved in the open day.
May - June 2003 Individuals or groups from the steering committee, the Open Day were invited to write action points on issues of concern to them.
June 2003 The action points were collated and presented to the Parish Council for comment.
July 2003 Final Action Plan approved, printed and distributed to all households in Ringmer.
