Ringmer Board School
The school in the post card served the entire age-range of scholars in Ringmer. As the village grew, a Secondary School (now a Community College) was built a little further along the main Lewes Road. Next an Infants Department was built in Harrisons Lane, leaving the Junior Department in the original school building. Later, the Juniors joined the Infants in the newer school in Harrisons Lane. The original building was closed in 1992 and demolished in 1993. The land was used for new housing.
The pictures below were taken in the last few months of the old school building.
